Executive Team GotVoice has assembled a highly regarded executive team with many years of experience in telecommunications, web-based software, and commercial application development. Here are some of the key personnel:Martin Dunsmuir, Founder and CTO Martin Dunsmuir, GotVoice President and CTO, has held senior technical positions with industry-leading companies in the U.S. and abroad. He joined the technical staff of Logica PLC in London in 1979, and was instrumental in the computerization of the London Tube's ticketing system. In 1985 Martin joined Microsoft Corp. in Redmond, WA to run the development and engineering for Microsoft's UNIX product line. During his eight years at Microsoft, Martin held a number of senior technical and business development positions in the Microsoft System Group, and was the leading Europe-based technical consultant for the company in the first two years of Microsoft Consulting Service. He also worked on interactive television, online services and multimedia tools. Martin joined RealNetworks in 1995 as General Manager and Founder of their Server business unit. In this capacity he was responsible for product marketing, business development and engineering of all RealNetworks servers and development tools. Martin was responsible for the first three generation of Streaming media server delivered by RealNetworks. He was General Manager in charge of the implementing a world-wide media delivery network called the Real Broadcast Network (RBN) and led the development from its inception until it was established as a major part of RealNetworks' business with anchor tenants such as ABC Sports and AOL. In 2000 Martin left RealNetworks, and moved to Hawaii where he founded GotVoice, Inc. Martin is the architect and developer of GotVoice's technology and services. He is an accomplished technical writer and has presented at exclusive industry events, including the NAB Executive Summit, The Cable Industry Lifetime Achievement Awards and the American Physical Society Annual Conference. Curt Blake, CEO Curt Blake, GotVoice CEO, has an extensive background in business development, general management and legal affairs, most recently at Getgo Ventures, a northwest consulting firm specializing in strategic business development. Curt was Chief Operating Officer for Starwave, where he managed business development, legal and business affairs, and operations for the world's most successful collection of content sites on the Internet. He developed and negotiated venture agreements with ESPN, NBA, NFL, Outside Magazine and ABC News to create Web sites around these national brands. Curt negotiated the sale of controlling interest in Starwave to Disney/ABC. Colin Lamont, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Colin Lamont is a software industry veteran with over 15 years of experience in various Marketing, Sales, Business Development and Product Management positions at technology companies, most recently at RealNetworks. During his 8+ years at RealNetworks he launched the company’s e-commerce store, leading the marketing and sales efforts for the RealPlayer Plus and 3rd party audio & video software. Colin also spearheaded content acquisition and business development efforts for the Emerging Technologies and Broadband divisions. His most recent role prior to joining GotVoice involved heading customer acquisition efforts for the RealArcade division, the world wide leader in Casual Games. Mike Webb, GotVoice VP of Software Development Mike Webb has extensive experience with a wide range of programming languages, operating systems, development tools, and design/development methodologies. With over 12 years of experience in commercial software environments, including Internet, telecommunications, business, and scientific application development, Mike has a proven track record in large-scale software development. Most recently a Senior Software Engineer for Entricom, a Seattle-based development company for regional and national telecommunication providers. Mike developed tools to manage shrink-wrapped applications in an ASP (application service provider) environment. At Entricom, he also developed sophisticated models for telephone number utilization and forecasting, and was responsible for system administration for the company intranet and deployed applications. Prior to that, Mike worked at RealNetworks as the Technical Lead on the Real Broadcast Network. In this role, he customized RealNetwork encoder and server software for large scale broadcasts. He also developed a multiple-server monitor to track the status of 50+ Unix servers on several networks to assist with 24x7 availability. He also worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Quality Assurance Engineer for the Media Tools and Media Client divisions. At Systems By Design, Mike was the Senior Software Engineer, responsible for projects for AT&T Wireless and Landmark Graphics. As a Software Engineer for Sierra Geophysics, Mike was responsible for design and development of a next-generation Unix/X11-based geological exploration and plotting application, Stratlog II. Bruce Peterson, Founder / VP of Applications Bruce Peterson has a superior track record for managing commercial software development and building creative and productive teams. He brings a wealth of telecommunications industry knowledge to GotVoice, having consulted and worked for telecommunications companies such as McCaw Cellular, AT&T Wireless, Quintessent, ATG and Entricom for much of the past 15 years. Bruce has a diverse programming, management and consulting background and has been primarily developing web-based applications and web sites since 1997. Since 2003 Bruce has split his time between GotVoice and managing large projects for companies such as Microsoft, Sur La Table and Washington Mutual. In addition to his experience at large companies, Bruce has also spent a lot of time working for start ups. GotVoice is the fourth company that Bruce has started or co-founded. Bruce began his career at Boeing Commercial after graduating from the University of Washington, and while at Boeing made the switch from electrical engineering to software development. |
